Great Free Resources and Free Activities for Veterans' Day

Having been born a few years after the end of WWII I remember hearing all the war stories my dad used to tell . He served in the navy and was a cook in the Philippines. I am very connected to veterans. My husband spent his career in the Army, my son was in the Coast Guard and my nephew had 2 tours of duty in Iraq.

Veterans Day is a special holiday to me.  I would like to share some great free resources for you to check out as well as some free activities from me. If you click on the picture at the top of the post you will find  more than 30 activities and websites for Veterans' Day. Although there are other websites I have looked at Teacher Planet had the most activities and links to other great resources. I hope you will check it out and find some great activities and information for your students.

I put together 2 fun free literacy center activities which you can download by clicking on the picture above.
There is a Veterans' Day Picture/Word Match and a "How Many Syllables" activity with Veterans' Day Words. I hope you will enjoy using them with your students.

You can also check out my new "Honoring Veterans On Veterans' Day" Packet by clicking on the picture below.
I hope you will take time to talk about this special holiday with your students. I know that in many classrooms around the country there are students who have a parent serving overseas today and may be in harms way. I hope that each and everyone of them returns soon.

Thanks for all you do to make a difference for your students.
I would appreciate it if you would pin this post.
